If you happen to be hunting for a unisex baby range then we may have just the thing for you. Back to the 70s & more.
Hi again girls,
Wellllll, haven't we have some rain over the last few nights.
My god it was a beauty last night, spare a thought for my poor husband who is on call.He got a call out at 11.30 & didn't get back home to 2.30 this morning! Of course came home wet after putting up "water over roads" signs everywhere. Living on a hill does have some advantages, water runs straight off.
So what do you do when waiting for him to return safely home from the thunder & lightning & pouring rain? Well you think about what you are going to put in the next Blog , of course!
So hopefully I can brighten up your world a little today.
Hope these fabrics will do the trick.
They are called "Poppy Modern" & are by Jane Dixon.
They retail for $24.00 per metre.
So pretty with a touch of the 70s sneaking in the design if I'm not wrong.
They say everything old is new again that seems to be very true at the moment, with fashion & our quilting fabrics.
Also featuring in the red tones is the designs of Barbara Jones
called "Cruzin".
These are also $24.00 per metre.
These are a bit cute, must admit the red one with the bikes is my favourite.
Could just see a little xmas dress made out of this .
And now for something completely different!!
These beautiful Hibiscus flowers are $22.00 per metre.
These are lovely big prints & would look great as a centre panel or as a
One Block Wonder quilt.
NEWS FLASH
New Tilda stock just in store!!
Haven't seen it myself yet, so will be looking forward to checking it out at work tomorrow!!
Elaine is busily unpacking as I type.
Cheers for now, Jen

Winter Warmers
Hi everyone,
Well I walked into work this morning armed with my camera to take some piccies for the blogspot.
I did have an idea what 2 ranges that I would feature in my head, BUT WAIT!!!
There are lots of new fabrics in, what a dilema, which to choose.
Sometimes it's a hard thing working at Picture Patchwork!!
So tempting!!
The first 2 that I want to tempt you with are both in our windows.
Firstly the Dear Stella range, there are 12 bolts to choose from that are priced at $22.00 per metre Beautiful colours featuring botanical prints, a bold stripe & some geometric patterns to mix & match in.
I absolutely love this range, so pretty.
Also we have some fabric called Hello Tokyo.
Any little girl that is a fan of Hello Kitty would probably like this too.
This range is in very strong colours & features little japanese girls , along with their cat & bird.
Selina has done up a kit using this fabric with a large front panel with the japanese girls on it. The kit is called Jesse's Quilt.
This would be a perfect quilt for a beginner or just a quickie to whip up .
The fabric range is $22.00 per metre & has 13 different designs to choose from.
The kit is just $69.95 & is a single bed size, great value!
This kit also comes in several other variations.
We also have a new boys kit called Kayden's Ladder.
It retails for $150.00 & is made up of a skater range.
As you can see, this is in autumn tones.
The pattern is also available for $14.95 if you would like to choose your own fabric to complete your project.
That is all I'm going to show for now, I will add more next week or if you like you can check out our Facebook page where Elaine has popped some of our new ranges on.
Don't forget we are still running classes for the beginner through to the more experienced sewer.
Bye for now, happy sewing!

Fresh look at Picture Patchwork
Hi Everyone,
Jen here, apologies for being off the radar for quite awhile.
Have to get my act together & keep you all up to date on what's been happening here at Picture Patchwork.
Well where do I start, firstly I should mention that unfortunately our Deloraine store has now closed. The good news is that we brimming with lots of lovely fabric as all the fabric from Fresh has made it's way back here to Latrobe!! So now you can see it all in the one location..Must say our store looks great!
We also have some new lovely fabric ranges in, but more about that on my next post.
For those of you that may not have been in for awhile , we also have a newish staff member.( she has been her for a little while) We are lucky enough to have Susan working with us.
Susan has been sewing for a long time covering many areas with her skills, dressmaking, pattern drafting & soft furnishings just to name a few. Of course it goes without saying that she is a dab hand at Patchwork!
She came along to our store for many classes with Selina in the past & has a real love for the craft.
Now she is also teaching here at Picture Patchwork. Susan loves fabric( as we all do) & likens it to working in a lolly shop for adults..
We also have Edith teaching some classes for us. Edith taught here a number of years ago when Selina was busy having babies!!
Edith has been sewing since 2000 when she came into the shop & saw Selina cutting with a rotary cutter NOT scissors. After doing some research & some classes with Selina & Kat Stone, she was hooked.
Edith now sews mainly for herself making her beautiful quilts but also offers a home quilting service which she does on her frame.
Of course Selina is still teaching classes too but just not quite as many as she was before. She is such a busy girl we allowed her to take a bit of time out for herself & we ALL know how that feels, that's why we do patchwork!!
So come in & check out all our wonderful samples of classes that we are running & cure those winter blues by spending some time here with us learning & laughing along the way!!!
Till next time, bye for now
