Back at last!!

Hi everyone, I am sorry I haven't been able to get back into our blog till now as Google in it's wisdom changed a few things on peoples blogs & it has made it IMPOSSIBLE to get in to post anything.

So YIPPEE they have finally fixed it all , I wasn't the only one to send a complaint!!!! Any way, hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful autumn weather.I absolutely love it.Now I can get back in the garden at some stage, I have a big heap of mulch that needs spreeding. And isn't this rain great, just what our poor gardens need.

We have some lovely new kits in the store just made up. They are Nine Birds by Emma Jean Jansen & we have kitted them using 2 different ranges. The kits are made up of 9 birds appliqued onto a drunkards path circle. The first range is Florence by Denyse Schmidt. This range is in lovely burnt oranges, brown & grey tones.I am not normally an orange fan but I love this range.can just see this madeup.
The other choice of fabric is Sparky & Marie by Jot Creates. This selection is in blues, aqua, cream & brown. both kits have our lovely hanky linen in as background & a border.

Kits retail for $115.00 or patterns for $17.50 I have made up this quilt some time ago & I must say I really enjoyed making it & all my family love the end result.

We  also have a kit for the  littlies called Menagerie
by Judy Newman. This quilt features 16 appliqued squares with a different animal on each that can be done by hand or machine. kits are $95.00 or patterns for $16.95. Both kits are perfect for the winter months to sit in the warmth & hand stitch near the fire or in a corner of a sunny room some where.

We have just sold out of this colour way sorry but are in the process of doing up some more to be released soon.

Welcome to the beginning of the new year.

Hi everyone, Hope you all had a great xmas & new year. Hopefully Santa sent a lovely gift your way, maybe a sewing machine, book or sewing box or perhaps some fabric or even a gift voucher. I have my beautiful little family home from Orange & am loving every minute of it, even the 6-6.30am visits into our bed from little Chase. Nothing like a big cuddle first thing in the morning. Also I think he has cottoned to the fact that he just about has nanny wrapped around his finger!!!

So I have only worked a couple of days since Chrissie, thanks to Susan for helping me out. But there has been a delivery of a rather pretty fabric range from Dear Sella. The range retails for $24.00pm & has 6 bolts of co-ordinating fabric. It has beautiful vivid colours & bold designs. Must say it reminds me very much of 70's fabric & of a pair of hot pants that were teamed with a matching dress in particular that mum made for me when I was about 13. Check out our window as I am going to pop it in for you to see.

This weeks book review is Sunday Morning Quilts This is a lovely book & puts a new modern twist on using up all those gorgeous scraps that you just can't part with. It walks you through the processes of Sorting Colours, Storage, & Design. It teaches you Quilt Construction from the very beginning to the finishing touches of turning a pieced top into a quilt, including putting your backing & wadding all together, basting, quilting & to finally bind. Obviously lots of you would already know these steps but then there are 16 completed projects for you to make. Beautiful fresh & simple designs that will inspire you to dig out those scraps. Or sit on your verandah on a Sunday Morning with a coffee or tea with this book on you knee & enjoy!!! Retail price $27.95
 Til next blog, Jen

Back to the 70s & more.

Hi again girls,
Wellllll, haven't we have some rain over the last few nights.

My god it was a beauty last night, spare a thought for my poor husband who is on call.He got a call out at 11.30 & didn't get back home to 2.30 this morning! Of course came home wet after putting up "water over roads" signs everywhere. Living on a hill does have some advantages, water runs straight off.
So what do you do when waiting for him to return safely home from the thunder & lightning & pouring rain? Well you think about what you are going to put in the next Blog , of course!

So hopefully I can brighten up your world a little today.

Hope these fabrics will do the trick.
They are called "Poppy Modern" & are by Jane Dixon.
They retail for $24.00 per metre.

So pretty with a touch of the 70s sneaking in the design if I'm not wrong.
They say everything old is new again that seems to be very true at the moment, with fashion & our quilting fabrics.

Also  featuring in the red tones is the designs of Barbara Jones
called "Cruzin".
These are also $24.00 per metre.
These are a bit cute, must admit the red one with the bikes is my favourite.
Could just see a little xmas dress made out of this .

And now for something completely different!!
These beautiful  Hibiscus flowers are $22.00 per metre.
These are lovely big prints & would look great as a centre panel or as a
One Block Wonder quilt.

NEWS FLASH
New Tilda stock just in store!!

Haven't seen it myself yet, so will be looking forward to checking it out at work tomorrow!!
Elaine is busily unpacking as I type.

Cheers for now, Jen
